Big, Bigger Biggest Plaza Monolithic Glass Mosaics How I got there, what the future might be | 26 Minutes
When BLACK LIVES MATTER was painted boldly at the White House. We all saw that the scale of public art in the ground plane was about to take off. Today I was contacted by a client for a 60,000' Plaza Monolithic Mosaic (PLM) - a process I invented. That 60,000' glass commission can really only be done in PLM.
Today, the largest PLM is a vast 3000'. It depicts deep-sea canyons and 100 life-sized creatures, from a 31’ juvenile Grey Whale to a 13” Mola Mola. In this time of COVID, how could cities and museums bring glass art outside to their plazas and parks to an underserved populace? How can we deliver the highest curatorial vision no matter what the climate - political or atmospheric?
Please join Robin at her Artist Booth (floor two of the GAS Market) on Saturday, May 2
2 for a roundtable discussion following this presentation.
